Obituary for Jesus "Jesse" Ybarra

Jesus "Jesse"  Ybarra
Jesse died August 17, 2014 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born September 19, 1925 in Belton, Texas to Mauricio and Margarita (Alvarado) Ybarra. He married Esther Velasquez in Lubbock, Texas on September 27, 1947.

Background:
Jesse moved from Lubbock to Muleshoe in 1959. He served honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II in Germany. He was a farmer with a great passion for music, guitar playing and baseball. Jesse enjoyed visiting with his family, neighbors and friends. He always had a smile and a hug for everyone. Jesse was a Godly man and was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and the church choir. He served the Lord by serving on several church organizations throughout his life, including the Sacred Heart Organization, the Cursillo Movement, the Parish Council and the Knights of Columbus. Jesse was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Petra Mercado and Santos Morales; seven brothers, Inez Ybarra, Faustino Ybarra, Luis Ybarra, Mauricio Ybarra, Juan Ybarra, Felimon Ybarra and Marcos Ybarra.


Survivors:
He is survived by the love of his life of 67 years, Esther; three sons, Andrew Ybarra and his wife, Yolanda of Muleshoe, Texas, James Ybarra and his wife, Romelia of Plainview, Texas and John Ybarra and his wife, Lora of Lubbock, Texas; five daughters, Margie Alarcon and her husband, Martin of Muleshoe, Texas, Virginia Moralez Lubbock, Texas, Esther Ybarra of Dallas, Texas, Delia Ybarra of Lubbock, Texas, and Mary Ann Abercrombie and her husband, Paul of Lubbock; two sisters, Luisa Rodriguez of Robstown, Texas and Concepcion Garcia of Los Fresnos, Texas. “Grandpa Jesse” is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
