Lucille died March 31, 2015 in Olton, Texas She was born June 23, 1920 in Morgan City, Texas to John Cleveland and Dora (Ferguson) Thompson. She married Houston G. Oden in Lubbock, Texas on September 10, 1938.

Lucille moved to Olton from Earth in 2004. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church Earth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Houston in 1996; her son, Kenneth; her parents; three sisters; five brothers; two granddaughters; and one great-grandson.

Survivors include a son, Granvil Lee Oden of Lovington, New Mexico; two daughters, Jo Ann Bulls and her husband, Gary of Amarillo, Texas and Linda Johnson of Plainview, Texas; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
