Church Service for Willie James, age 81, of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Trinity Christian Church in Muleshoe with Mitchell James and Daniel Patterson officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park. Willie died Thursday, June 9, 2016 in Muleshoe. He was born July 9, 1934 in Fillmore, Oklahoma to Willie Martin and Alma Alice (Holmes) James, Sr. He married Laverne Black in Muleshoe on September 11, 1953.

Willie had lived in the Muleshoe community since 1952. He was a fertilizer salesman for Western 66 Company for over 20 years. He was a member of the Progress Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Laverne in 2012 and his parents.

Willie is survived by his two sons, Bill James and his wife, Elizabeth of Shallowater, Texas and Tim James and his wife, Dianne of Lamesa, Texas; his two daughters, Glenda Copley and her husband, Randol of Muleshoe, Texas and Tonya Pool of Muleshoe, Texas; his sister, Julie Locke of Longview, Texas; his brother, Herb James of Ardmore, Oklahoma; eleven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
