Church Service for Frank Parker, age 83, of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 3, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Muleshoe with Dr. Stacy Conner of Muleshoe officiating. Burial will be in Muleshoe Memorial Park. Frank went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 31, 2016. He was born March 2, 1933 in Anton, Texas to Arthur and Marie Parker. He married Johnnie Spears in Clovis, New Mexico on December 5, 1953.

Frank grew up in Anton, Texas. He accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior at the age of 15. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1953 and served two years during the Korean War. After being discharged, Frank went to Texas Barber College in Houston, Texas. He and Johnnie moved to Muleshoe in 1959, where he owned and operated Sanitary Barber Shop on Main Street for 52 years. He retired in 2010 due to health reasons. Frank was faithful to serve the Lord and would pray for anyone needing prayer. If you were in Frank’s chair at the barber shop, you were prayed for. He was a Deacon in the Trinity Baptist Church. After that church was closed, he became a member and an Honorary Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Muleshoe. Frank is preceded in death by his parents and his brother and best friend, Carlos Mayne Parker, who went to be with his Lord in April 2015.

Frank is survived by his wife of 62 years, Johnnie; his three sons, Dennis Wayne Parker and his wife, Marie of Austin, Texas, Ronnie Jack Parker and his wife, Marilyn of Odessa, Texas and Larry Dale Parker and his wife, Janet of Wylie, Texas; two brothers, Jimmy Jay Parker and his wife, Dorthy of Des Moines, Iowa and Thomas Sidney Parker and his wife, Cathy of Hawkins, Texas; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be sent to First Baptist Church of Muleshoe, 220 West Avenue E, Muleshoe, Texas, 79347 or American Cancer Society, 3511 – 10th Street, Lubbock, Texas, 79415.
