Church service for Cornelio Ortiz, age 53, of Bovina, Texas, is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Father Anthony S. Aakula of Bovina officiating. Rosary will be said 7:00 PM, Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Bovina. Cornelio died Saturday, November 5, 2016 in Bovina. He was born September 16, 1953 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Domingo and Maria de Jesus Saenz. He married Juana Ortiz in Chihuahua, Mexico in 1985.
Cornelio worked at Cargill Meat Packing for several years. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Cornelio is survived by his wife, Juana; two sons, Cornelio Ortiz and his wife, Mireya of Midland, Texas and Gerardo Ortiz of Bovina, Texas; a daughter, Vanessa Durben and her husband, Michael of Muleshoe, Texas; two sisters, Carmella Mendoza of Chihuahua, Mexico and Lydia Ortiz of Chihuahua, Mexico; three brothers, Jesus Ortiz of Levelland, Texas, Humberto Ortiz of Clovis, New Mexico and Moncerrat Ortiz of Chihuahua, Mexico; and two grandchildren, Daniel Ortiz and Steven Layne Durben.
