Graveside service for Violet Dean, age 96, of Denton, Texas, formerly of Muleshoe, Texas, is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Muleshoe Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Stacy Conner of Muleshoe officiating. Violet died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 in Denton. She was born April 3, 1920 in Hollis, Oklahoma to George Daniel and Dollie May (Cain) Denton. She married Lealand Kenyon Dean in Levelland, Texas on October 10, 1940.

Violet had lived in Denton since 1998. She worked for Five Area Telephone Cooperative in Muleshoe, and retired after 30 years of service. She was an avid Texas Tech Red Raider fan and was very fond of her former home, Muleshoe, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenyon in 1982 and her parents.

Violet is survived by her son, Lealand Dean and his wife, Louise of Denton, Texas; three grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be sent to First Baptist Church of Denton Building Fund, 1100 Malone Street, Denton, Texas, 76201.
