Samuel is preceded in death by his brother, Mario.
He is survived by his three sons, Joseph Ryan Olivas of Levelland, Texas, Kevin Greg Olivas of Fort Worth, Texas and Caleb Garcia of Galveston, Texas; his daughter, Megan Nicole Cooper of Alabama; his mother, Maria Luisa Rodriguez of Morton, Texas; his sister, Leonela Little of Morton, Texas; his two brothers, Tommy Olivas of Morton, Texas and Sabino Rodriguez of Wolforth, Texas; and four grandchildren.
