Winifred Willie  Dykes (Hamilton)
Wilifred Winnie (Hamilton) Dykes was born July 6, 1918 in Quitaque, Texas to B.K. and Lena (McBride) Hamilton. She married Hubert W. Dykes in Littlefield, Texas on December 19, 1936.

Winifred was a “Forever” Sudan resident for over 70 years. She lived in Amarillo from 2003 until 2010. Winifred was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Borger. She is preceded in death by her husband, Hubert; her parents; her sister, Bertha Hestland; her brother J.T. Hamilton; and two half-brothers, Harvey Hamilton and Kenneth Hamilton.

Survivors include her two sons, Donald Dykes and his wife, Anita of Amarillo, Texas and Scotty Dykes of Jacksonville, Florida; her half-sister, Margaret Meeks of Ft. Worth, Texas; her half-brothers Jerry Hamilton of Weatherford, Texas and J.W. Rucker of Moriarty, New Mexico; three grandchildren, Alison Sanchez and her husband, Narciso, Kristi Musick and her husband, Robert and Donald G. Dykes and his wife, Robin; nine great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be sent to Borger Primitive Baptist Church, 628 South Missouri, Borger, Texas, 79007 or Harmonee House, 114 Main Street, Amherst, Texas, 79312.
