Obituary for Max

Max Sageser went to be with our Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. He was born August 23, 1939 in Lubbock, Texas to Emma and Forest Sageser. He went to Texas Tech and was a member of the Rodeo team and Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. He served in the Air National Guard and was a proud Republican. In 1959 he married Charolett Holder and had two children Cindy and Sid. They made their home in Cotton Center where he farmed until 1978 when they moved to Dimmitt and he continued to farm there.
In 1987, he remarried Joni Hobbs and they relocated to Earth. He was a member of Earth Baptist Church and was active in his second church, Island Baptist in South Padre Island, where they wintered the last several years.
He had numerous hobbies, including flying, fishing, hunting, golfing, wood working, gardening, watching sports, playing games and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Joan L. Sageser. His children: Sid of Ft Worth, and Cindy of Jacksonville, FL: grandsons: Zachary and Alex of Ft Worth and Seth of Austin: sister: Martha Lou Burnett of Cotton Center: Stepchildren Tammi and Howie: step granddaughter: Bryttni: step great-grandson Zayne along with loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jack Sageser and sister Emma Frances McCluskey.
While we will miss Max on Earth, we are excited that he is riding the King’s boat, playing with the golden golf club, and updating the wood work in heaven. A celebration of life will be announced later.
