Obituary for Joyce Nix (Coker)
Joyce Coker Nix died Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in Olton. She was born March 9, 1930 in Wellington, Texas to Valton Duke and Beula Inez (Roach) Coker. She married Bill Nix in Brownfield, Texas on April 3, 1948.
Joyce was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sudan. She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill in 2013; her sister, Oleta Hill; and two brothers, Doug Coker and J.J. Coker.
Joyce is survived by her son, Tim Nix and his wife, Joan of Sudan, Texas; her daughter, Nancy Dawson and her husband, Ken of Tulia, Texas; her brother, Vic Coker and his wife, Judy of Earth, Texas; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church in Sudan, 411 Main Street, Sudan, Texas, 79371 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 3610 – 22nd Street, Suite 300, Lubbock, Texas, 79410.
