Church service for Mildred “PeeWee” Lance, 95, of Sudan, Texas is scheduled for 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at the First Baptist Church in Sudan. Grandsons Guthry and Monty Edwards of Sudan and Korey Kennedy will officiate. Visitation will be 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at Ellis Funeral Home in Sudan. Burial will be in Sudan Cemetery.

PeeWee died April 15, 2018 with her family by her side.

She was born February 12, 1923 in Chillicothe, Texas to O.O. and Martha (Walser) Baker. She married R.A. “Pete” Lance in Lubbock, Texas on Nov. 27, 1947. They were married for 66 years and had three children: Nancy, Connie and Bo. PeeWee graduated from Sudan High School in 1941. She was a homemaker, Sunday School teacher, loving mother, wife and “Meme” to all who knew her well. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Dexter, Calvin, and Billy Baker, son-in-law, Robin Davis and infant grandson Ryan Lance Davis.

PeeWee is survived by her daughter, Nancy Davis of Sudan; daughter Connie Edwards and husband Steve of Earth; son Bo Lance and wife Mary of Lubbock; nine grandchildren: Monty (Brandi) Edwards; Mandy (Trace) Kaufman; Kyle Edwards; Rebecca (Roger) Whipkey; Danya Logue; Guthry (Stephanie) Edwards; Macie (Korey) Kennedy; Shalah Stanton; Elliott (Ginni) Stanton; nineteen great-grandchildren: Mitch (Nathalie) Edwards; Madi, Gavin, Porter, Grace, and Judson Edwards; Tyce and Bayleigh Fisher; Derek Kaufman; Reagan and Rylee Whipkey; Parker and Barrett Logue; Elijah, Eliana, and Adalyn Kennedy; Alexis Brand; Camryn and Gunnar Stanton and numerous nieces and nephews.
