Ramon Ortiz Muniz died Friday, December 7, 2018 in Lubbock, Texas at the age of 77 years, 1 month and 13 days. He was born October 25, 1941 in LaJoya DeSatero, Chihuahua, Mexico to Apolonio and Sara (Muniz) Ortiz. He married Julia Balderrama in Dimmitt, Texas on March 4, 1985.
Ramon was a farmer and enjoyed playing pool. He loved music, dancing and cooking out with his family. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in Earth. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Francisco Ortiz.
Ramon is survived by his wife, Julia; three sons, Daniel Balderrama and his wife, Bertha of Chihuahua, Mexico, Juan Balderrama and his wife, Hilda of Lubbock, Texas and Jaime Ortiz and his wife, Julie of Vega, Texas; his six daughters, Alma DeLaCerda of Lubbock, Texas, Nancy Gonzales and her husband, Arnold of Lubbock, Texas, Sara Ortiz of Lubbock, Texas, Criselda Ortiz and her husband, Ruben of Dallas, Texas, Myrna Flores and her husband, Rafael of Amarillo, Texas and Sylvia Prieto and her husband, Fernando of Lubbock, Texas; his two sisters, Teresa Ortiz of Juarez, Mexico and Elia Ortiz of LaJoya De Satero, Chihuahua, Mexico; his brother, Ignacio Ortiz of Columbus, New Mexico; 31 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
