Max died Tuesday, March 20, 2018 in Lubbock. He was born November 9, 1950 to Maximno and Lilly Martinez Cortez Sr.

Max moved to Earth in 2016 from Amarillo, Texas. He was a building contractor. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Mary Cortez and Pauline Cortez, four brothers; Buddy Cortez Sr., Pete Cortez, Johnny Sylvester Cortez and Max Cortez.


Maz is survived by one son; Max Cortez III of San Marcus, Texas, three sisters; Ester Hernandez of Weslaco, Texas, Mercedes Nieto of Earth, Texas, Pomposa Ramirez of San Benido, Texas, one brother; Joe Cortez of Amarillo, Texas, and two grandchildren; Zaybriel Cortez and Kayla Worth.
