Eddie  Haydon
Eddie died Friday, November 9, 2018 in Dimmitt, Texas. He was born January 24, 1935 to Raymond and Louise (Milburn) Haydon in Weatherford, Texas. He married Sherry Stine on August 3, 1957.

Eddie moved to the Sunnyside community when he was 13 and graduated from Springlake High School. He served in the US Army and then returned home to farm until he retired in 2007. He was a lifelong member of the Earth Church of Christ, where he led the singing over 50 years, taught Sunday school and served his church in the capacity of a deacon and an elder. Eddie served on the Springlake-Earth School Board, the Sunnyside Farm Store Board, the Estacado Industries Board and the PR Board for the New Mexico Children’s Home. He was a mentor for the Billy Wayne Clayton Juvenile Facility, and upon retiring from farming, Eddie also served as a mentor at the Neal Prison in Amarillo, Texas. Eddie loved serving the Lord. He enjoyed fishing, and his family was his greatest treasure. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Milburn Haydon, and one sister, Patsy Ottmers.

Eddie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sherry; his three daughters, Kelly Quisenberry and her husband, Danny of Earth, Texas, Kim Perry and her husband, Steve of El Campo, Texas and Jeanne Furr and her husband, Jim of Earth, Texas; his sister-in-law, Beverly Watson of Pampa, Texas; his seven grandchildren, Trusstin Perry and wife, Kristin, Brooke Perry, Quade Furr and his wife, Brittany, Slade Quisenberry and his wife, Erica, Cole Perry and his wife, Lindsey, Chance Furr and his wife, Kayce and Ashley Turney and her husband, Chance; and his twelve great-grandchildren, Jaxon and Londyn Perry, Koultre Perry and Addison Krenek, Kysen and Bryleigh Hall, Haidyn and Greyson Furr, Hendrix Perry, Kenzi and Londyn Valdez, Presley Quisenberry and Mason Furr.

The family suggests memorials be sent to the New Mexico Children’s Home, 1356 New Mexico 236, Portales, New Mexico, 88130.
